1. Patrick Mahomes
Mahomes is the best quarterback on the best passing offense in the NFL. Adding to that, he has two of the best pass-catchers in the league in Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. It’s simple, he’s number one.
2. Kyler Murray
Kyler finished as the QB3 overall in all fantasy leagues last year, and he won’t be declining anytime soon. The 23 year old star has great speed, accuracy, and strength. Coupled with DeAndre Hopkins and recently acquired A.J. Green, there’s no reason why Kyler won’t be a top tier fantasy quarterback.
3. Josh Allen
Josh Allen proved many of his doubters wrong last season, greatly improving his accuracy and his possession of the football, and finishing as the best quarterback in fantasy last year. With most of the same receiving core returning and a solid offensive line, Allen is in line to dot up the league once again. He will be a high-end QB1 in all leagues.
4. Dak Prescott
Before going down with a gruesome ankle injury that kept him out for most of the 2020 season, Prescott was the QB1 overall in the first four weeks that he played, averaging 30.55 fantasy points per game. This Cowboys offense won’t be slowing down any time soon, with lots of elite talent across the board. Prescott has immense upside and is a sleeper pick to finish as the QB1 overall in the 2021 season.
5. Lamar Jackson
Lamar took a step back from his otherworldly MVP season 2 years ago, as he only
finished as the 10th best quarterback in fantasy. However, his rushing ability makes him
one of the best options for fantasy managers. A healthy Lamar could end up as a top 3 option at his position next season.
6. Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson started off the 2020 season as the hottest QB in the league, earning many people’s respect and many thought he would finally get his first MVP. However, as the season progressed, Wilson became much less consistent, as he did not break 23 fantasy points over the last 9 weeks of the season. Despite this, Wilson is still a very dangerous threat. His rushing ability keeps him as a top quarterback in the league, and with deep threats like D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, it appears that Wilson is on pace for another productive season.
7. Justin Herbert
Rookie phenom Justin Herbert finished as the QB7 in fantasy points per game(among those who played more than five games), with one of the worst offensive lines in the league. His star running back, Austin Ekeler, also missed half the season with a hamstring injury. The additions of first-round rookie tackle Rashawn Slater and all-pro center Corey Linsley drastically improved the Chargers’ offensive line, giving Herbert elite-QB1 upside. Herbert does come with some risk, however, as although he was elite under pressure, he was below-average when throwing in a clean pocket, per PFF.
8. Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers threw for 48 touchdowns last year . . . as a 37 year old. Age has shown
no problem for the perennial MVP. Despite the rumors and his desire to leave Green
Bay, Rodgers is still a good option as a fantasy quarterback. With the uncertainty in regards to his destination and him having proven to be one of the best quarterbacks in NFL History, he is a high-risk, high-reward option this year.
9. Ryan Tannehill
Ryan Tannehill was the QB7 last year in total points on the high-powered Titans offense. Although he lost some of his leading pass-catchers in Corey Davis, Jonnu Smith, and Adam Humphries, Tennessee recently acquired superstar receiver Julio Jones to line up alongside star receiver A.J. Brown. Tannehill has good upside due to his big-play ability and his superstar teammates. However, the Titans are still a run-heavy offense, limiting his ceiling.
10. Tom Brady
You don’t really see 43 year old quarterbacks lead their team through 3 playoff games on the road and then win a Super Bowl, and not to mention win Super Bowl MVP. Well, that is exactly what Tom Brady did. Brady is surrounded by once again the same team, as the Bucs organization did a great job of “Bringing the Band” back together. However, he is getting older, and we don’t know how much his body can handle before he calls it quits. But with elite weapons such as Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, and his longtime buddy Rob Gronkowski, Brady is still a top 10 fantasy quarterback option.
11. Matthew Stafford
Stafford has been a very overlooked quarterback throughout his NFL career, as he has been on the very unsuccessful Detroit Lions franchise. A change of scenery in Los Angeles could put him among the top fantasy quarterbacks, as he has better weapons in Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, along with a great play caller in Sean McVay. Even though he has been on a bad franchise his whole career, Stafford hasn’t proven himself to be elite, and his weapons, along with his offensive line, aren’t the best. He comes with risk, but does possess a lot of upside on the high-powered offense, making him a good value at his ADP.
12. Jalen Hurts
Hurts showed flashes as a promising franchise quarterback for the Eagles in his four starts last season. As a dual threat quarterback, Hurts can take the league by storm in his second year as play caller. However, with the Eagles bringing in more quarterbacks into the room, Hurts might not have all the chances again this year. However, if he can beat out the other quarterbacks for the sole starting job, Hurts can easily be a consistent starter in fantasy leagues next season, and has the upside to become a mid to high-QB1.
